Ayer Keroh – situated on the outskirts of Malacca – has quite a few contrived tourist attractions that are mostly deserted on the weekdays. Sited approximately 15 km east of Malacca City, Ayer Keroh – also known as Air Keroh – has been publicized as a major Malaccan tourist spot. It is home to more than a few tourist attractions including Taman Mini Malaysia & Asean, the Malacca Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary and the Melaka Zoo. However this quarter is truly the sticks as it lacks dining, nightlife and shopping venues.
Although Malacca is home to some of the most delectable fare in Malaysia, this quarter of Malacca doesn’t have many gastronomic options apart from a MacDonald’s that stands near the Ayer Keroh toll booth. However, if you’re in the area and craving some nosh then head on over to the Café Botanikal – located next to the Botanical Gardens – which has some fairly satisfactory fare or try out the d'Village Coffeehouse, in Air Keroh d’Village, which serves local kampung- and hawker-style fare.
▷ Right beside Mahkota Parade, the three-star Mahkota Hotel has 483 apartments plus hotel facilities include a pool, spa, gym, tennis and squash courts and more.
▷ The four-star Bayview – located nearby historical sites, shopping belts and entertainment centres – has 192 rooms and six food and beverage outlets.
